Maar er is nog een buzzword, dat in verschillende partijprogramma’s terugkomt en zelfs in de titel van de Miljoenennota: ‘brede welvaart’. Deze term, dertig jaar geleden gelanceerd door de SER-Nederland, moet een aanvulling zijn op het bbp als manier om te meten wat van waarde is. Economische groei gaat namelijk niet per se samen met dingen die we ook belangrijk vinden, zoals biodiversiteit en sociale cohesie, om maar twee dwarsstraten te noemen.
