ROUND TABLE CONVERSATION ABOUT ‘FUTURE OF WORK’

WILLEMSTAD, 15 March 2019 – On Thursday 14th March 2019, in the meeting room of the Social and Economic Council (SER) at the Ansinghstraat, there was a round table session on ‘Future of Work’, which is a part of the ‘Road to Global Entrepreneur Summit 2019’ (GES 2019). The SER worked hereby together with the organization of WeConnect.  The entrepreneur of Fin Tech from Curaçao, Adric Walter held during the morning session a keynote speech on his viewpoint on the impact of technological changes on the employees. He underlined the importance of lifelong learning at a young age to continue making a social and economic contribution. As special guests were present: Minister Hensley Koeiman of Social Development, Labor and Social Welfare (SOAW) and the US ambassador to The Netherlands, Pete Hoekstra. The session was facilitated by Tanja Fraai, one of the co-founders of the foundation of WeConnect.

During the afternoon session the SER hosted the workshop for public private partnership (PPP). Dionandrea Shorts and John Ashwood Heffern of the US State Department (the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United States) gave the presentation ‘Boldline’, a program in which a PPP can be obtained faster.
