Technical Delegation of Economic and Social Council of Curaçao pays courtesy-visit to Consul-General of China

Willemstad, 2nd of January 2019 – On the 28th of December 2018 a technical delegation of the Economic and Social Council (SER) of Curaçao, consisting of the Director/Secretary General Mr. Raul Henriquez and the senior policy/legal advisor,Mrs. Miloushka Sboui-Racamy, paid a courtesy-visit to the Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Willemstad, Mr. Zhang Weixin.

The SER, as Boardmember of the ‘Association Internationale des Conseils Economiques et Sociaux / International Association of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions’ (AICESIS), will be hosting in March 2019 the next Boardmeeting and workshop of AICESIS, which consists of Economic and Social Councils from all over the world..

Given the central theme of the upcoming AICESIS workshop, ’The Digital Revolution and its impact on Mankind’, and China’s advancements in digital technology, the SER found it necessary to exchange some ideas on technical level with the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China. During the courtesy visit both the activities of the SER of Curaçao on the regional and international level were discussed as well as the global and regional goals and ambitions of China. Considering the fact that the SER of Curaçao currently holds the position of Deputy-Secretary General of AICESIS for the Latin-American and Caribbean region, the courtesy visit was perceived by both parties as very fruitful and enlightening.
