Global Deal Forum: Towards a just transition and Sustainable Labor Markets’

Willemstad, November 17, 2022 – A delegation of the Social and Economic Council (SER) of Curaçao participated on 2 and 3 November 2022, at the Global Deal High Level Forum on Social Dialogue; Towards a just transition’’, an annual international social dialogue event, which was held this year in Madrid and was organized by the Global Deal Initiative under auspices of the Government of Spain.

The event took place at the Casa de América, where over 450 participants joined the in-person and online discussions and exchanged ideas and perspectives on the role of social dialogue and sound industrial relations in shaping effective solutions to today’s labour market challenges. The forum also featured the launch of the Global Deal Flagship Report 2022: “A Partnership in Action.”

The SER, who in may 2022, became the first social and economic advisory board in the world to join the Global Deal Initiative, was present in Madrid to network and soak up best practices and knowledge on social dialogue from key policy makers worldwide and other stakeholders involved with social dialogue.

The Global Deal is a multi-stakeholder initiative for social dialogue and inclusive growth and a global partnership of governments, businesses, employers’ organizations, trade unions, civil society and other organizations that aims to jointly address global labor market challenges and enable as many people as possible to benefit from globalization. The Global Deal was established by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the International Labor Organization (ILO), among others.
