Advisers of SER/ROA/GOA participate in the master class Civil Service Law & Moot Court Civil Service Master class
Willemstad, 31 May 2019 – Two senior legal advisors, working at the SER/ROA/GOA Secretariat Office, participated in the Civil Service Law & Moot Court Civil Service master class on Wednesday 29 May 2019. This master class was organized by the Ministry of Administration, Planning and Services (BPD). Together with other colleagues from various ministries, the two legal advisors were able to brush up on their knowledge of civil service law. The two legal advisors, Miloushka Sboui-Racamy and Sharlyn Curial-Villareal, have to deal with policy-related aspects of civil service law issues in their daily working practice. The master class was given by Prof. Lodewijk Rogier, lecturer at the University of Curaçao (UoC) and Jeff Sybesma, judge at the Civil Service Appeals Tribunal. Both dealt with topics such as the position of the civil servant, the material legal status of civil servants, disciplinary measures and legal protection.
Mr. Keursley Concincion also made a contribution, sharing his experiences as a civil servant ombudsman. In addition, he gave a further explanation of the concept of ‘good civil servantschip ‘. Furthermore, the President of the Civil Service Appeals Board, Mr. Derek Haan, was present to share his knowledge with those present and to lead a real Moot Court (practice court) in the afternoon.
