SER: United Nations Development Coordination Officer visits SER Curaçao

 

Willemstad, May 20, 2025 — On Monday, May 19th, 2025, Mr. Raul Henriquez, Secretary-General and Director of the SER, accompanied by senior advisors, welcomed Mr. Arslan Chaudhary, Development Coordination Officer and Mr. Mark Thomas, Partnerships and Development Finance Officer in Willemstad, Curaçao for an introductory visit at the offices of SER Curaçao. Mr. Chaudhary and Mr. Mark Thomas form part of the Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) in Trinidad and Tobago. In Trinidad and Tobago, the Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) supports the work of the UN Resident Coordinator and coordinates activities of the UN Country Team in its engagement with the Government. The RCO in Port-of-Spain is a Multi-Country Office (MCO), responsible for Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity to further strengthen the enduring relationship between SER Curaçao and the United Nations’ Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) in Trinidad and Tobago. The meeting provided a platform for both parties to exchange updates on developments of mutual interest, while also reinforcing the foundation for enhanced collaboration and strategic synergies. During the visit Mr. Chaudhary and Mr. Thomas provided details about the forthcoming Common Country analysis to be conducted for the island of Curaçao. The technical team of SER Curaçao demonstrated their support for the dedicated efforts of the Resident Coordinator’s Office. In addition, they showed their willingness to collaborate and provide insights in relation to the forthcoming Common Country Analysis. SER Curaçao eagerly looks forward to contributing to the research, confident that the forthcoming study conducted by will yield valuable insights.
