SER Presents advice on the revision of the list of laboratory diagnostics
Willemstad, November 8, 2024 – The Social and Economic Council (SER) presented an advisory report to the Minister of Health, Environment, and Nature (GMN) on Wednesday, November 6. The report focuses on the proposed revision of the list of laboratory diagnostics within the basic health insurance, which aims to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in laboratory diagnostics.
A key aspect of the draft national decree is the introduction of a positive list, which includes diagnostic tests and laboratory tests that are scientifically and technologically up-to-date. The proposed positive list was developed in close collaboration with medical laboratories in Curaçao and takes into account the latest medical and technological developments, as reflected in the list of the Dutch Healthcare Authority.
The SER hopes that its recommendations will contribute to a sustainable healthcare system in which high-quality medical laboratory diagnostics play a significant role in the overall quality and accessibility of patient care.
