Social Economic Councils in Latin-America and the Caribbean unite for \u2018Broad<\/span> Prosperity<\/span>\u2019<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h1>\n

Willemstad, March 9, 2024 – In a virtual meeting chaired by the Social and Economic Council (SER) of Cura\u00e7ao, the foundations were laid for a future of \u201cBroad Prosperity\u201d in Latin America and the Caribbean. This significant gathering marked the first meeting of the year 2024 for the network of socio-economic advisory councils and similar institutions within the region, known as CESISALC.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Representatives from countries including Argentina, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Cura\u00e7ao and Peru exchanged insights and visions on the theme of \u201cBroad Prosperity\u201d on March 6. This term, increasingly prevalent in public discourse, encompasses not only economic growth but also aspects such as social inclusion, the environment, and quality of life.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The digital assembly served not only as a platform for idea-sharing but also as the kickoff for implementing a strategic agenda. Under the leadership of Cura\u00e7ao\u2019s SER, a roadmap was developed with clear objectives for the next two years, focusing on strengthening social dialogue and democracy within the region.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The strength of the virtual conference lay in bringing together diverse perspectives, fostering debate, and sharing best practices. All of this aimed at promoting a holistic approach to prosperity that goes beyond gross domestic product (GDP).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As the moderator and guide of this constructive dialogue, Cura\u00e7ao\u2019s SER emphasized the importance of institutionalized social dialogue as a foundation for democratic reinforcement and socio-economic development. The positive outcomes of this meeting <\/span>bode well for the future, with the next physical encounter already planned for May this year in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia<\/span>, where<\/span><\/span> the <\/span>members of CESISALC will continue to build the road to\u202fbroad prosperity, a path that prioritizes not only wealth but also well-being and sustainability.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
